Monty's Bay Campsites was established as a sole proprietorship by Gerard and Sally Bechard in 1963 with 25 campsites, a beachside day picnic area, and a convenience store. This family business has grown to the current size of 134 campsites and, in 1991 added Gilbert Brook Marina. The marina has 170 boat slips, 90 boat moorings and a boat ramp. We have also added a modern heated tiled bathhouse, office/convenience store, pool and laundry facilities. To this day the children of Gerard and Sally are still involved in the management of the business.

12 miles south of the U.S.- Canadian border and 8 miles north of Plattsburgh, New York. Monty's Bay Campsites' location at the center of Monty bay offers 1/4 mile of shoreline and panoramic views of the surrounding New York and Vermont shorelines and mountains. Our season extends from May 1 to October 15. Monty's Bay Campsites is only 4 miles from exit 40 on Interstate 87, and close to Plattsburgh for shopping, restaurants, and other conveniences.
